Some guy named Hector enters “Hall Of Fame” in new Jeff Rosenstock video

Have you ever actually sat down and watched public access television? It’s pretty special.  Jeff Rosenstock gets it, and that’s probably why he went ahead with this idea for his new “Hall Of Fame” video, premiering today on Noisey.

Watch the video here:

In Jeff’s own words, here’s how it all came together:

“My buddy Philip Stone plays drums in the band Sanawon, but they haven’t been super active over the past few years. I know he’s hilarious and that he would come up with something awesome and weird. From what I know, he was going to make this show with his friend Hector, but after he made the sets something happened and it didn’t end up coming to fruition.”

Well, thankfully Jeff was able to put The Hector Show to new use!

Don’t miss our #1 boy Jeff Rosenstern out with Modern Baseball, PUP and Tiny Moving Parts starting TONIGHT!

It feels like summer in October…

Mondays usually suck. You wake up in a post-Sunday haze and all you wanna do is shut off the alarm and go back to bed. Don’t worry – we get it. But today is very different. It’s not like other Mondays. We jumped out of bed today. And if you have a plane ticket with your name on it for later this week, you probably know why. IT’S FEST WEEK, BABY!!!!!

We’ve packed our bags (okay we haven’t packed yet whatever) and on Thursday, will jump on a flight from LAX to Gainesville (okay I think we stop in Charlotte or something whatever) for our favorite weekend of the year: THE FEST!

We’ll be set up at registration on Friday with some seriously cool records for sale PLUS a limited, one-time-only FEST EXCLUSIVE shirt designed by our best friend Zack Mykula of PUP!

We’ve also got a list of like a million bands to see (okay maybe more like 30 but hey at Fest that’s basically a million), including a bunch of our own…

– 11:50PM Timeshares @ The Wooly
– 12:50AM Restorations @ The Wooly

– 2:04PM Joe Sib @ Rockey’s Comedy
– 7:40PM Superheaven @ Cowboys
– 10:50PM Meat Wave @ Boca Fiesta
– 11:40PM Rozwell Kid @ Boca Fiesta

– 3:28PM Joe Sib @ Rockey’s Comedy
– 3:50PM Jeff Rosenstock @ Lot 10
– 5:00PM PUP @ Lot 10

There are a whole bunch of other bands you should try to see, too, like our friends in Spraynard, who let us put their music on 7” records, and Modern Baseball, who will be going on tour with PUP and Jeff Rosenstock immediately following Fest.

No matter what, it’s gonna be a great weekend and WE CANNOT WAIT! Now how do we fast forward to Friday morning…

We signed Rozwell Kid!

Man, we won’t even try to sugar sweet butter this up with some marketing speak or anything. We’re just too excited. We signed a wonderful band from West Virginia called Rozwell Kid!!!!!!!

If you’re unfamiliar, that’s unfortunate because Rozwell Kid is easily one of the best bands floating around in our community and in the world in general. They first hit our radar last year with the release of their outstanding album Too Shabby, and then we saw them at The Fest and nearly cried right there in the venue. Wouldn’t be the first time, tbh.

Since then, we’ve seen them like 6 or 7 times and each time, we cringed out of the pure anxiety we felt over the potential of signing them. We couldn’t sleep at night. We couldn’t stay awake during the day. We were at the #edge of our seats waiting in anticipation to find out if Rozwell Kid would check YES or NO on the cute note we sent them in the form of a crazy long legal contract sent and written by lawyers.

We found out they checked YES a little while ago, but have had to keep our lips sealed (SUP GO-GO’s REFERENCE?!) until the exact right time to announce… which is TODAY!

The guys made a sweet video to announce their signing, you should watch that now:

If you’re going to be at The Fest next week, please come see Rozwell Kid when they play (RIGHT AFTER MEAT WAVE) Boca Fiesta on Saturday October 31 (SPOOKY HALLOWWEEEEENNIEEEES) at 11:40PM.

The coffee mug. It’s the most unlikely of confidants, but it’s the one that’s there for you, without fail, day in and day out. Within its tiny arms holds a comforting burst of energy in the morning and that last little push you need to get to 5PM. But what does the world look like from it’s humble perspective?

That’s the question this video seeks to answer, set to the tune of Restorations “Tiny Prayers,” off their latest album LP3.
