Allison Weiss premieres new video for “Who We Are” on FUSE

Lately it seems like there’s a new story of someone being oppressed by gender roles every single day. We read them, we share them, we learn exactly who we should unfriend on Facebook, and in turn, these stories break our hearts. We express our support in waves, and lead by example in our everyday lives, sending a message of hope and empowerment to anyone who encounters it.

Today, our literal best friend Allison Weiss unleashes one of her most powerful songs to date, an anthem of independence called “Who We Are,” taken from her upcoming album New Love out October 2. You can pre-order that baby right here, right now: http://s1dm.my/NewLovePREORDER

The song, and its accompanying video, represents a message to all of those who have ever felt ostracized from doing something they love based on outdated and discriminatory standards: no matter what society says you should do, you have to follow your heart.

Watch the trailer on Kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/saracrow/never-get-tired-the-bomb-the-music-industry-story/description

Fully funded on Kickstarter in less than three days, Never Get Tired is the feature-length film about DIY pioneer Jeff Rosenstock, who put his songs online for free (long before Radiohead and Trent Reznor) and redefined punk for the internet age. The film focuses on the world’s first donation-based band, Bomb the Music Industry! and Rosenstock, its variously charismatic, depressive, big-hearted, and loudmouthed mastermind.

And as you guys know, earlier this year we released Jeff Rosenstock’s We Cool?, his first solo album since BTMI!’s 2014 demise. So this is all full circle in the best way possible.

Hope to see you there!

Watch Meat Wave destroy and dismantle in their new Audiotree session!

File this one under “things you will literally never regret watching because this band is so freaking dope”

It’s Meat Wave on Audiotree Live!

Watch it here: http://audiotree.tv/session/meat-wave

In all seriousness, seeing Meat Wave live was one of the main reasons we even wanted to sign this band in the first place. Watch the Audiotree session to see what we’re talking about and then definitely mark your calendar to check them out on tour this fall. You won’t regret it, that’s for damn sure!

Allison Weiss teams up with Stay Home Club for exclusive patch collaboration!

Okay, fine. We spend a lot of time on Instagram. Whatever! If it weren’t for our hours of endless lurking through the discover page on the ‘gram, we would’ve never learned about Stay Home Club, a killer fashion/lifestyle/whatever brand based in Canada. Their products truly spoke to us — a tee with a poodle and text that reads “Nothing Fancy,” a patch with a frowny teardrop that says “Sad Songs Forever” on it, etc etc.

Fast forward to when we first heard Allison’s new jams. All of a sudden, fireworks and light bulbs were going off all over the place! So we send SHC the album, asked if they would be down for something a little crazy, and of course they said yes!

Today we’re stoked to announce the launch of an exclusive line of patches inspired by Allison Weiss’s new record New Love, available only at stayhomeclub.com!

Seriously though, how amazing are these patches?! Our friends at HelloGiggles seem to agree, too: http://hellogiggles.com/allison-weiss-stay-home-club/

Oh… and order any of the Stay Home Club x Allison Weiss patches and you’ll get a free download of her latest single “Back To Me” right away!

New Love comes out Friday October 2.

Meat Wave on the cover of Red Eye Chicago!

Very stoked to see our dudes on the cover of this week’s Red Eye Chicago, a weekly lifestyle/entertainment mag flooding the streets of the windy city!

Read the whole interview here: http://www.redeyechicago.com/music/redeye-meat-wave-interview-cover-story-delusion-moon-half-acre-punk-20150910-htmlstory.html

Red Eye also reviewed the new album, calling it “a nervy, raucous kick in the face” DAMN! http://trib.in/1FaeEMO

And of course, a list of Meat Wave’s favorite Chicago-area bands: http://trib.in/1ibGoGi

Remember– Delusion Moon comes out this Friday. Buy it. Duh!

Meat Wave Delusion Weekend Extravaganza!

Meat Wave’s new record Delusion Moon FINALLY comes out this Friday so to celebrate in the city that birthed the damn thang, the band is hosting a bunch of FREE events…
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 @ 5:30PM
First up is a special release day in-store at Bric-a-Brac at 3156 W Diversey Ave. Key things to note here: it’s FREE, starts at 5:30PM, you can BYOB and Troy Anderson will be playing, too. Key words here: FREE and BYOB!

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 @ 9:00PM
Real stoked on this. It’s like a party and a show all in one. The dudes are hanging at Emporium (1366 N Milwaukee Ave) to DJ, play some tunes and hang with friends Lil Tits and Foul Tip. As if that’s not cool enough, local brewery Pipeworks is brewing a blood orange session ale called DELUSION MOON and will be tapping it for one night only! Did we mention this one is also free? Yeah, you’re welcome.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 @ 4:00PM
The final bit of this sees the dudes going back to where it all started, at least for us. One of the first clips we watched of Meat Wave was their Record Store Day performance at Saki from a few years ago. Shit was dope. So they’re going back the week after release for another fun and FREE in-store performance. One more band TBA. BYOB, duh.
